I tackled the prep work listening to music and consoling myself by thinking of the money I save working out on jobs instead of in gyms. Rather lame, I must admit but when sanding a ceiling with dust sprinkling onto my face, the thought of having firm arms is comforting.
The client wanted a color palette of a soft orange-yellow and blue. I applied a creamy ocher on the walls and highlighted the molding with a deeper, transparent, golden yellow diminishing the contrast. The blue was reserved for a sky ceiling. Isn’t that fun! I painted a rather subdued morning sky. Subtle; when you enter the room, you might not even notice the ceiling decoration immediately, which makes a chic surprise when you do lift your head.
J’ai d’abord travaillé ce salon comme peintre en bâtiment. (Bouchage de fissures, ponçage etc…) Ce n’est pas très passionnant comme activité mais, ça paye les factures. Cette pièce a de jolies moulures, malheureusement peintes en jaune criard qui la réduise visuellement.
J’ai fait ce travail de préparation en écoutant de la musique et en pensant à l’argent que j’économisais car grâce à ce travail, je n’ai pas a aller à la gym. Oui, c’est nase mais lorsqu’on ponce un plafond avec de la poussière qui tombe dans les yeux, il faut s’accrocher aux idées réconfortantes.
La cliente voulait une palette d’un jaune orangé doux et d’un bleu. J’ai appliqué une ocre claire sur les murs et j’ai rehaussé les moulures avec un jaune doré transparent. J’ai réservé le bleu pour le plafond en ciel. J’étais ravie ! (J’adore faire les ciels.) J’ai fait un ciel subtil du matin. D’ailleurs, en rentrant dans la pièce, on ne remarque pas le décor immédiatement mais quelle belle surprise quand on lève la tête !
