I've started painting again. It's been about a year since I've made paintings on canvas. Way too long. I'd been itching to paint for awhile already but hadn't started not only due to lack of free time (too many house painting jobs) but also because of the blank canvas fear syndrome. I finally streched a few canvases and decided to stop racking my brains for a meaningful theme and just paint. I knew it actually didn't matter what I painted. I simply had to start mixing colors on the palette and then push the paint around. Still, I wasn't going to make abstract paintings so decided on landscapes as all I wanted to paint was color and light.
These landscapes were inspired by photos I took this summer on the Atlantic coast (the forests at the Dune de Pyla and the seascape on a beautiful island near Grandville in Normandy).
I'll be busy doing a new patina job soon but as I've started two other paintings about trees and light, it shouldn't be too difficult starting again.
Enfin je peins de nouveau. Cela fait un an que je n’ai pas fait un tableau. Trop longtemps. J’ai eu envie depuis un moment mais il ne me manquais pas seulement du temps (trop de chantiers) mais du courage (peur de la toile blanche). J’ai enfin préparé quelques tableaux et j’ai arrêté de prendre la tête sur un thème sérieux. Il fallait peindre. C’est ce qui compte; mélanger des couleurs et pousser la peinture sur la toile avec une brosse. Mais bon, je n’allais pas faire de tableaux abstraits. J’ai choisi les paysages comme sujet car je voulais travailler la couleur et la lumière.
Ses paysages sont inspirés par de photos prises cette année à la dune de Pyla et sur la grande île de Chausey (Granville).
Je serai occupée sur un nouveau chantier de patines mais comme j’ai déjà démarré deux autres tableaux d’arbres et de lumière, ce ne serait pas trop difficile de recommencer.
